After a long year and a cold winter, Minuteman Club events are back!  It’s time to break out your favorite Mercedes and meet your fellow club members at the American Heritage Museum in Hudson, MA on Saturday June 12th.

This event is suitable for all ages. We will meet on the lawn of the Museum at 10:00 am and proceed inside at 10:30. The tour is self-guided and there will be plenty of docents around to answer questions and provide more information about the exhibits. After the museum (about 2 hours), we will meet back at our cars for a catered, boxed lunch and a (very) short election meeting for the club.

Please bring your own lawn chairs to sit outside and have lunch. There are no picnic tables available. Tickets must be purchased in advance. The cost for museum admission and the boxed lunch is $20/person ($10 for children 12 and under). The Minuteman Chapter is subsidizing this event, so as to make it affordable for all. Join us for a Sunset Cruise of Bat Watching

It is a spectacular sight to see the bats emerge from the bridge at sunset! An estimated 1.5 million Mexican free-tailed bats live under the Congress Avenue Bridge. It is the largest urban colony in North America, recognized by National Geographic, The Discovery Channel, and various other news media. Come relax on the lake, observe our unusual attraction, and listen to the narration and history provided by your captain.

This will be a bring your own food and BYOB.  In previous years we have had a potluck dinner, but due to Covid, it will be to bring your own food.

Although Covid is still with us we want to hold some driving events this year. Our plan is to have at least one event per month starting in May and continuing through September or October depending on weather. These events will be structured to ensure that all participants follow safety protocols.

We also plan to hold some short notice events for “Coffee and Cars” get togethers where members can meet at a designated location to chat and socialize at a safe distance.  Any events will be conditional on the government restrictions in place at that time.  Notification of events will be sent out via email and posted on on our new Facebook page once it is operational.

The following is a list of proposed events and tentative timeframes.  Details and schedules will be worked out and more information provided to members as it is finalized.

- May - Visit to St Albert’s Cheese Factory/Store in St Albert Ont.

- June - Gananoque Parkway Drive - Picnic along parkway

- July - Visit to Perth - Local Brewery and Distillery - Picnic in Stewart Park

- August - Visit MacKenzie King Estate in Gatineau Park

- September - Scenic drive to Calabogie and Lanark Highlands

On May 4th we will drive to Riverside Casino and Resort.Located at 3184 Highway 22, Riverside, Iowa 52327

Directions: I-70 west to Highway 61 towards Troy, which turns into Hiway 27 all the way to the resort.Take exit 80 and turn right- the resort is 1 mile on your left.The drive takes approx 4 hours and is all divided 4 lane hiway. Check in time is 4 pm at the resort.

Because of COVID restrictions no one restaurant can accommodate 40 guests. We have three choice: "Ruthie's Steak House", "Draft Day sports lounge" and "22 and vine."

here is a link to look at the menus https://www.riversidecasinoandresort.com/index.htmlOn May 5, we drive to Pella. Directions: Hiway 27 N to I-80W for about 1 hour to Newton ,turn south on state road 14 to Monroe, turn south on 163 and drive into Pella. which is about 30 mins from Newton.  Please drive at your own speed, this is not a group drive. The drive to Pella takes around 1 1/2 hrs. Plan to arrive between 10 & 11am to enjoy this cute Dutch town. Enjoy the Tulips in bloom all over the town & the park. Plus, visit the shops and enjoy the Jaarsma Bakery on Franklin Street, which specializes in making pastries in shapes of the alphabet. There are 20+ places to eat lunch and you are on your own.

We will distribute detailed maps of the area with everything marked.

Dinner: we will meet at 5 pm at Central College, which is south of Town square. Parking is directly across the street and drop off in front of the building.The college is putting on an authentic Dutch meal and entertainment. The cost is $25 pp with no tax or tip. On March 27th, Saturday morning, plan to meet up at the CVS on 281 and Hwy 46 - our usual location for drives out that way. We will meet at 10:45 a.m. and will leave the parking lot at 11:00. We'll drive along a scenic route to Rebecca Creek park.Everyone is asked to bring their own picnic lunch and beverages.

Ozark Section MBCA Christmas Charity Event Saturday December 12, 2020 The Ozark Section MBCA will be partnering with the NWA Mercedes-Benz dealership to support the Salvation Army’s 2020 Toys for Tots annual event. Those members who can participate will line up in a caravan of cars at the Sam’s Club Home Office in the parking lot backing up to the dealership at 11:45am. We will then drive around to the front of the dealership with each car stopping to drop off their donations in the Gift Collection Box. The dealership will use a drone with a camera to capture our group’s journey. Afterwards we will meet wearing masks under the dealership’s front canopy to enjoy cupcakes and water. Your Section leadership will also share updates on planned upcoming events from our December 5 Board Meeting. Dennis will also present the “Member of the Year” award. We realize that many members do not live close to the Bentonville dealership, so we encourage you to share the giving spirit at a local charity near you. Please feel free to share what you did as a MBCA member to support the Salvation Army this holiday. The Mississippi Mercedes-Benz Club and the New Orleans Polo Club invite our members to attend a polo match. We have toured the facility and this should be an outstanding, first class event! The New Orleans Polo Club will not charge us a fee for the polo matches. This will be a one day event.On Sunday, November 8th, we will depart the Wynndale CEFCO gas station on I 55 south at exit 81, Wynndale Rd at 8:30AM and drive South to Summer Grove Farm 26191 Highway 40 Folsom LA 10437 for the polo matches starting at 11:00AM and ending by 2:00PM. There will be a food truck/airstream trailer that the Polo club uses regularly where we can purchase lunches individually. I’m sure if you would like to bring a picnic basket that would be fun as well! After the polo matches feel free to explore the area or head back north with members via a rural scenic route.Members are invited to join in the drive south or to meet us at the polo field at their convenience. We are hoping for great weather and a fabulous event! The annual Charity car show formerly held in Boerne at Lester's Automotive is now going to move the venue to Comfort and the Singing Waters Vineyard. The change in location will make it a much better event. Lots of outside space to promote social distancing - food, music and wine tasting will also be offered. The Texas Hill Country Benz club has been asked to participate this year again. Entry to the show is free for spectators. There is a $25.00 entry fee to show your car for early registration. There is a $35.00 entry fee the day of the show. We are looking for Benz's 10 years old and older - and also newer special interest benz's - AMG's GT's Brabus, McClaren etc. Any Benz will not be turned down... so if you have a nice example and you would like to put it in the show - please do.  The show is scheduled for Saturday October 31st. Participants are asked to arrive at 7:30 so we can park together for the show.

The Singing Waters Vineyard has a covered pavilion with a stage, shaded seated areas with tables and chairs, a large grassy lawn for the cars, as well as paved parking area for spectators.  They will have food service and wine tastings of their delicious wines produced from the grapes grown in their own vineyards surrounding the venue.  Free bottled water will be provided to all, but no outside food or drinks will be permitted.

 In addition to lots of fabulous automobiles, they will have a silent auction. For the kids we will have "Trunk-O-Treating” since it will be Halloween!  Rumor has it that we may also have flyovers from vintage aircraft, weather permitting!
