December Picnic at Mission Valley Community Center

December Picnic at Mission Valley Community Center

Texas Hill Country
Saturday, December 5, 2020 -
1:00pm to 3:00pm
New Braunfels

Dispite the dreary drizzly day, we had a fair turn out for our December picnic - with social distancing and masks. There were 9 club members in attendance. Everyone brought toy gifts to donate to the Toys for Tots campaign.

As we sat around the wood burning stove in the little school house, everyone enjoyed their lunch as we talked about and solved all of the countries problems and troubles... we had a nice visit together and a nice afternoon.

The Mission Valley community center is actually an old one room school house that was built in the 1840's for the early German settlers in the area. The land and the building was donated as the first community school in 1870. Annexed by the New Braunfels school district in 1952, the historic building has served as a community center ever since.

Louis Forrai was awarded a plaque for Member Chair of the Year. Congratulations to Louis.
