We had a very good turnout and a beautiful day for our scenic drive through the Texas Hill Country. We drove through several small out of the way towns along our route. It was a pleasure to drive the winding roads in a Mercedes. There were 7 cars in our group this day. A vintage classic 1981 240D that was in excellent condition drove along perfectly with the group. There were many models and years amoung us. Even an AMG GTC - several SL's of various years, and a Blue Tec S350. All of them a great sight to see on the road - especially when you love the Mercedes cars as much as we do.

We arrived at our destination - Enchanted Rock and took several photos of our group and of course photos of the famous hunk of granite rock. Legend has it that a band of brave indian warriors which were the last of their tribe, defended themselves on the large granite dome from the attacks of other Indians. These warriors were eventually overcome and killed. Enchanted Rock has been haunted by their ghosts ever since. There are many legends that involve this area. One tells of an Indian princess who threw herself off the rock when she witnessed her people slaughtered by enemy Indians Her spirit is said to haunt the enchanted rock.

After our photo session, we drove on to Fredericksburg - where we bid farewell and each of us went our separate ways. By the time we got home, we put 200 miles on the SL. A very nice day, a nice drive and a lot of very nice people.
