It's the annual Oktoberfest All-German Car Show with our buds in the BMW, Porsche, and Audi clubs. We're at a new location at 31st and Penn on the top deck of a parking garage immediately east of BMA Tower -- the biggest expanse in town we could find that will accommodate us. With the other clubs we now routinely draw over 225 cars of all vintages. It just wouldn't be the same without yours.

This is a not a judged concours. Just run your car through Waterway and bring it over still dripping wet. We have an area along the east wall reserved just for us. A lawn chair would be a good idea. Maybe a small cooler. There is a travelling "Hog" trophy to the club that draws the most cars, so come on out and help us win the trophy back from those pesky BMWs. Oh, and possibly win a door prize.

Come on out to admire some great cars and visit with your Benz friends at a socially-approved distance. (See Note below.)

There will be updates to this post. Check back!

09-18-2020 UPDATE: This event will also be an opportunity to qualify for the MBCA Silver Star Preservation Award. If your roadworthy Mercedes is 25 years of age or older, essentially original, and you drove it to the event, MBCA certification forms will be available for you to apply.

This is a self-certification, with verification from two on-site judges. Assuming your car qualifies, you'll apply to the MBCA NBO for a great certificate (wait for it...suitable for framing!) and authorization to purchase a handsome and exclusive Silver Star Preservation grill badge. They are way cool and only available to owners who have received the certification. This is NOT a concours beauty contest, but a verification of eligibility in regard to function and originality. Application form here.

09-28-2020 UPDATE: Plan on arriving between 9:00 and 9:30 a.m. (or even earlier) for placement. Guests are welcome. We should be wrapped up by noon to get everyone home in time for the big game.

Be SURE to use Pennsylvania Ave. to access the ramp to the show on the top level of the parking garage. The Pennsylvania Ave. city streetsign on the north side of 31st says "PENN ST." It's small and it comes up pretty fast. Do NOT use the more obvious private drive entrance marked by the "One Park Place" monument sign just to the west. It does not lead to the show.

If you're planning to use the Southwest Boulevard and 31st Street intersection on your way in, you'll encounter a bit of road construction. Signage there will direct you one block NE to Roanoke for the detour. Follow Roanoke about 500 feet to the first traffic light and turn left to be back eastbound on 31st.

Note: We will observe the Kansas City, Missouri extended State of Emergency proclamation in effect until January 16, 2021. This is an all-outdoor event. Accordingly, while not required, all Kansas Citians are strongly encouraged to wear masks outdoors in any situation where they are unable to maintain six feet of social distance from others.
