Thirty-three folks attended our warm-weather event (105 degrees!), which was a visit to the Kimbell Art Museum to enjoy the highly-acclaimed Monet: The Late Years exhibit.  Through 52 paintings, the exhibition traces the evolution of Monet’s practice from 1913 to his death in 1926.  This collection is assembled from major public and private collections in Europe, the United States and Asia. The exhibition showcases many extraordinary and unfamiliar works from the artist’s final years, several of which are seen for the first time in the United States.

We started the event with lunch at the Kimbell Cafe.  After lunch, attendees spent as much time as they wished to go through the exhibit, guided by an excellent audio tour.

After the event ended, twelve of us proceeded to DJ and Cecile’s nearby home for an impromptu wine-and-cheese social.
