On Saturday August 10, twenty-three members of the Eastern Oklahoma Mercedes Benz Club of America ventured to downtown Tulsa to tour  the revitalized Tulsa Club hotel and its Chamber restaurant.

The Tulsa Club’s history began when it was founded in 1925 as a high-society club for wealthy oil barons.  It moved into the Tulsa Club building after construction was completed in 1927.  The club continued to be profitable for many decades until economic decline caused it to close its doors in 1994.

After suffering from three fires, weather, vandals, and thought to be headed for destruction, the newly restored and remodeled Tulsa Club has risen to become a truly shining example of art Deco architecture in downtown Tulsa.  The purchase by the Ross Group saved this gem from possible destruction.  The total renovation lasted four years and took a total $36 million,

Members toured multiple floors of the hotel seeing the new ballroom and meeting space.  A highlight was walking around the outside patio on the twelfth  floor with views of the deco district in downtown Tulsa. After the tour, members were served lunch in the hotel restaurant called Chamber.
