What an amazing day full of amazing people, cars, events! The Cincinnati Section Celebrated 55 years as a section, with our biggest event drawing over 70 members!

A group of 20 Brave Souls took on one of the most challenging road rallyes the section has ever done. Surprisingly the participants were up to the challenge as there was some fierce competition for the top three prizes. The rallye Started in Northern Kentucky wound its way to the Roebling Bridge; a historic bridge built as a test for the Brooklyn Bridge. Then we went up one of Cincinnati Seven Hills to Mt. Adams, and took in some amazing views of the city. From there we drove through Eden Park, one of the oldest City parks in Cincinnati. From Eden Park we drove along the river to Lunken Airport (the first Cincinnati Airport) and then up to Ault Park, before heading to Steeping Stones.

While there was some small many said they loved the route. The Diehl’s took first place in the Rallye. The Lundberg’s came in second. The Donahue’s came in third. It was all three couples first time participating a rallye this year!

Those people who didn’t wish to participate in the rallye began filling up our parking lot at 12:30. By 2PM the lot was full, everyone was mingling, and enjoy each other’s company. At 3PM we had a great lunch of Burgers Brats and Chicken.

We had three classes of vehicles for our Concours d’Ordinaire, and member’s cars did not disappoint. Richard DeWert’s 1962 O319 van won the Classic Class. Carol Colclasure’s 2009 SL550 won the Transitional Class. Michael Vanselow’s 2016 CLA45 AMG won the Modern Class.

The section has some great Sponsors, and we raffled off a clear bra package from InvizaShield, a Car details with clothing from Mercedes Benz of West Chester, a basket from Liberty Mutual, and some really cool Mercedes Benz Swag.

Everyone left with a commemorative 55th Celebration Glass, and the day couldn’t have been any better!
