Good home needed for: 1988 Mercedes-Benz 560 SL, $23,799, with 69,501 miles presently. It still has its lovely original Signal Red exterior paint with Palomino leather interior and only a few very minor blemishes. It’s hard top hasn’t been on it in years, but is included with the stand. The black soft top was replaced with a quality replacement in 2006 that is still in like new condition. The tires were replaced in 2014 with Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus tires that only have 1,633 miles on them now. This impressive classic is in great condition inside and out.
Since our family acquired this beauty in July, 2006, with 58,141 miles and a clean CARFAX Vehicle History report it has always been covered and garaged; first in Oregon up until 2014, and then subsequently in Tennessee until present. Driving it back to Tennessee stands out as a very fond and pleasant roadtrip memory for us! It has been well maintained and all service records have been retained under our ownership. To the best of our knowledge; there is no rust or leaks; it’s still sporting its original paint and interior; has never been wrecked; and has a great service history. The original Becker stereo is still installed in the car. In 2019 it was sent off for restoration by Becker and the Bluetooth modification was added enabling the streaming of music directly from your phone… very convenient new capability! Heat/AC work well; however, after the AC was converted to R134 in 2019 we have not used it enough to keep the refrigerant charged and it is in need of a recharge before next summer. All instruments function. This model, part of the R107 series, is particularly sought after by enthusiasts due to its unique specifications and features. This is the US model with the dual headlights and 5 mph bumpers. The Mercedes-Benz 5.6-liter V8 engine has real power!
This classic is a head turner, and was used in local 4th of July parades during its tenure in Oregon! It needs absolutely nothing (other than the R134 recharge) but a new owner who will continue to maintain it and can/will exercise (i.e., drive) her regularly. Unfortunately we were not able to hit the road with her as often as we we should have and now find ourselves needing the garage space back. Will you be the one to give her the new home she deserves?
