Hello MBCA Friends!
Would like to offer up our 1 of 112 made 1967 250SL with factory performance upgrades for the Italian market to compete against Lancia and Alfa Romeo. Black with Cognac and Dark Tan Soft Top. 61k actual miles (in km 98k)
Largely original but mechanically kept up to date and systems like shifting linkage and brakes recently restored.
Repainted once back in the 1980s, top notch job, still shows like almost new paint.
250SL has a factory installed hot cam, high revving, MFI with no emissions equip mated to ZF racing 5 speed transmission and a 4.08:1 rear differential. Car has the light weight 230SL type trim (about 500 lbs lighter than a 280sl) making this car a screamer that handles excellent and drives down the highway without revving to the moon.
Located in SE CT. Recently shown by invite at the coveted Turtle Invitational and the Boston Cup. Will be at the Audrain Concours D' Elegance Saturday.
Originally in Italy, imported to USA by second owner in 1983. Asking $165,000 based on global market comps from last 24 months being between $120,000 and $220,000
