I am assisting a good friend in Dallas, Texas liquidate part of his Mercedes collection to make room for new Mercedes projects. I've successfully found homes for all of his cars- except one: his beloved 1985 Mercedes-Benz 300SD, affectionately named Matilda.
This particular 300SD is considered by many enthusiasts to be the "holy grail" of Mercedes diesel engines, especially within the W126 chassis. The 1985 model year was transitional- it's the final year of the 300SD and the first to include modern upgrades like a driver's airbag and antilock brakes, making it a fairly rare and desirable combination.
What makes this car special:

Exterior : Original paint shows well for its age- decent shine no major dents or rust.
Interior: Needs attention-seats need reupholstering, though carpeting and wood trim are in nice condition.
Mechanical : Starts on the first try. Has been sitting, so it needs to be gone through, but it runs and drives. The car is currently being stored at a trusted independent Mercedes-Benz specialist shop with over twenty years of experience. The shop mechanics know these cars well and are happy to assist the next owner in bringing the car up to date, if desired.
This is NOT a concourse show car, but it is a rare, well-optioned, and highly sought-after 300SD that deserves to be brought back to its full glory.
