Transmission or Vacuum

Hi all, I suspect I have a vac system issue in my beloved "Stella" (S123 chassis). The transmission is acting up; she has sluggish shift (and sometimes none) from 2nd to 3rd (but generally not a lazy response in Drive overall).

Are there specific places which notoriously leak that I should check first, or is it a seek and find?

Also, the locking system sometimes doesn't respond to unlock, which makes me think this is more of a vacuum issue than transmission fluid or something else, but I'm by no means very knowledgeable mechanically. TIA for your insights!

Possibly the VCV (vacuum control valve) going bad. sounds like the symptoms

Go to mercedessource.com......Kent has a great PDF explaining how to diagnose vacuum issues on a w123 and various kits, parts and tools to solve the problems. It's not hit and miss, it is a process, which is not overly difficult if you follow the step by step instructions
