C199 SLR McLaren

The SLR is the collaboration of McLaren and AMG which Mercedes thought should be more SL-like and McLaren thought should be more track racer. Finally, a forum for this misunderstood unicorn! One of the 2nd generation of Mercedes-Benz Supercharged vehicles which includes the '32' M112K V6, and '55' M113K V8 series in multiple chassis and this supercar M155 V8. All have 3-valves per cylinder, overhead camshafts, port fuel injection, two spark plugs per cylinder, and compressed air/water intercoolers.

I was involved with Sports Car Market 1000 AMG Invitational in 2022 in Bend, OR where one of the cars was a SLR Stirling Moss Speedster (1 of 2 in the US). I got a short ride in it during the event. What a treat!!! Never had that much dirt in my eyes on such a short ride...I like my roadster–much more civilized even with the top down.
