560sl Seat Cover Replacement

I'm wanting to replace my driver's seat covers on my 1987 560sl. Can this be a self performed job, or recommended for an upholstery shop? Are the covers seen advertised in the Star, Hemmings, etc. of good quality? Any tips to share? Thank you.
I'd recommend an upholstery shop for that repair. GAHH makes a good product. Just be aware, no matter how Good the remainder of your interior looks you Will notice a difference in dye/colour. I'd consider having both seats re-done if you want to keep it looking proper/factory.
