Presdent's Message
I have heard from a few members that went to Walla Walla to join our friends from the Seattle Section for the wine tour weekend. Their comments were all very similar. They all had a great time with our friends from Seattle. If you missed out you do have another opportunity to have some fun with your Mercedes-Benz and our friends from Seattle August 9th for their Annual Show and Shine. This is a great event in a great location in Mountlake Terrace, WA, just north of Seattle. If you are planning on attending, please complete the registration coupon found in the newsletter and send it in ASAP. Also, don’t forget our Regional Event with the Vancouver Island Section August 28th – 30th. MBCA National Events Chair, Frank Cozza, and Mary Alice Cozza will be coming out to teach Defensive Driving and how to safely enjoy our Mercedes-Benz’s. What you learn here can save your life.
As I write this, I just returned from our latest Mercedes and Mocha event. Since the days are getting longer and warmer, we thought folks would favor milkshakes over coffee. By the size of the turnout, I think we were right. We have one more Mercedes and Milkshakes this summer in August. It will take place at Burgerville in Hillsboro on NW Cornell Rd at 11am August 8th.
If you haven’t already, there is still a little time left to join us July 19th for the Forest Grove Concours d’Elegance. The fee is $20 per person. This admits you to show, display your car in the Portland Section Corral, and lunch. If you just want to join us for lunch, but not have your car on display, you can do that too. Please contact Allen Stephens. Past President, Gary Hays is working on a fun rallye of Clark County August 22nd. Please note the date has changed. We will be having a picnic lunch toward the end of the rallye.
Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is coming soon. This is our annual business meeting with the primary purpose of electing members to serve on the Section Board. We will be electing the positions of President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. We also have Director at Large positions open too. If you want to be more involved with the Club this is an excellent way to do it. If interested please contact any Section Board Member. We also will be seeking member input for ideas for events for 2010. Put your thinking caps on! Details about where and when for the AGM will be coming soon in future newsletters.
See you soon!
