MBUSA Headquarters-Montvale, NJ

The 46th Annual June Jamboree will be held at Montvale, NJ on Saturday, June 20, 2009. This is the longest running car show event for the MBCA.

The Concours class cars will be judged by teams of judges according to the updated MBCA National rules. Concours cars will need to be cleaned and detailed inside and out. They will be judged in four categories: 1 – Interior, upholstery, trunk, hard top, soft top; 2 – Chrome, plastic, rubber, glass, lights, trim; 3 – Engine compartment; 4 – Exterior paint, finish, bodywork. The chassis, underbody, and exhaust systems will NOT be judged in this event. Pete Lesler, MBCA President will be the head judge again this year.

Popular Vote cars need only to be clean and presentable.
For Popular Vote cars just “give the baby a bath” and come out and enjoy the day.

Pre-registration is greatly appreciated as it allows the judges to have the field set up more accurately. Pre-registration for Concours and Popular Vote is $45 prior to June 15, 2009. Registrations after that date and on the day of the event will be $55 per car. Meals and facilities is $10 per person for those not registering a vehicle, (children under 12 – no charge).

Registration will begin at 8:00 AM in the lobby of MBUSA. The schedule for the day is as follows:
Registration 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM. Judging will begin at 10:30 and there will no more detailing of the cars allowed.
Luncheon graciously provided by MBUSA will be served around 1:00 or as soon as the judging of the Concours cars is complete. All Popular Votes must be turned in before entering the lunchroom. Awards ceremony will follow the luncheon and the completion of the judging.

MB Flemington

In January, during our visit to "new dealer" Mercedes-Benz of Flemington,NJ (article appears on the first page of the March-April Star Tracks 2009 newsletter) our membership chairman Dave Hall shot a video titled “Why you should join the Mercedes-Benz Club of America”.

This professionally developed video features NNJ section members describing the varied benefits of MBCA membership using the Flemington Mercedes-Benz facilities.

Our prospective new members should be aware that “membership has it’s privileges”. Many of our local sponsors can save you up to 20% on parts and service and our national office sponsors the 2009 MBCA Buyers Loyalty Program.

Please use the following link to view Dave’s video: http://www.vimeo.com/3255557

We urge you to view the two minute video, share the link with your friends and write the editor, khs@openix.com with your comments. We are attempting to use multi-media content to help promote recruitment of new members. It is important that we do this at a time of less than ideal economic circumstances in order to sustain and help grow our section membership base.

There are real economic benefits to be had as a MBCA member as seen in Dave Hall’s video. At this time we are encouraging our members to participate in at least one of our monthly events in order to “savor the flavor” of being a participating member.
