The Niagara Section of the Mercedes-Benz Club of America, Inc. (MBCA) has a very active membership in the Western New York area with many members who participate in both Regional and National MBCA events. Please take the time to review some of the recent activities we have organized locally. If you should have any questions contact one of our members or visit the national MBCA site.
Many of our members recently completed a Defensive Driving event which was held at Erie Community College. Both Mercedes-Benz and MBCA place a high value on safety. Guest speakers at our monthly meetings have included representatives from tire companies, The Erie County Sheriffs' Department and insurance companies. We will continue to focus our efforts to provide members with this type of important information. Events and other activities are covered in our newsletter, The Nickel City Star.
We ended 2005 and greeted 2006 with a flurry of activities. Our holiday party was the last activity of the year. Saying goodbye to 2005 was made most enjoyable by the staff at Salvatore's Italian Gardens. Their presentation of both food and decorations were most enjoyable!
About 40 section members came together at the Roycroft Inn in East Aurora to celebrate Valentine's day. The ladies all received long-stem roses which was very much appreciated. A "thumbs up" by all was the consensus. This may turn out to be an annual event in coming years.
February also included an ad hoc trip to the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, Ontario. This is the second largest Auto Show in North America. It's takes all day and well into the evening to see everything. Many of the cars on display are not available in the United States. It's easy to leave the venue with envy.
Before the first half of the year is over members are looking forward to a visit to the PaintMedic Accident and Repair Center where they will learn about proper body care and repair. Also on the agenda soon will be a trip to the Buffalo Transportation Museum followed by dinner at Chef's Restaurant. Members are currently planning a day trip to Hamilton Ontario with shopping and other activities on the agenda.
We hope this provides a sense of the kinds of things we do locally in the Niagara Section. Add all of this to the regional and national opportunities the MBCA provides and it's easy to fill a calendar for a year. So many choices.
