I know I saw a post in here from a while back on this...but I am having a mental block on what they are called.

I want to repair the seat-back pockets in my 300D. My darling daughters would catch their shoes on them - and they broke the plastic strip thingys that hold the black mesh in place.

I could not find these parts in catalogs I had - can they be ordered? Interior is tan.

Thanks, Phil

Re: Seat back mesh storage pockets

I repaired mine for 75 cents a seat. Most marine supply houses will have what you need with a limited choice of colors.

After driving around for more than 10 years with a somewhat useless seat back net, I decided to do something about it. Following in the steps of others, I checked the dealer price. It is about $50.

As you know, only the bungee or shock cord at the top of the net goes bad. It loses its elasticity after 20 years or even 10 years.

I went around to upholstery, fabric and home improvement places. The best I could find were some small diameter bungee cords in the home improvement places. Problem is, they are only 12 inches long and I needed 24.

On to the wonderful internet where I learned in the first 3 listings that small diameter shock cord is an inexpensive marine item. Off to my local Boaters World where I picked up 5 feet of appropriately sized shock cord for the princely sum of $1.52 including tax.

It took about 30 minutes to do both seats.

The moral of this story is, if you are driving a land barge, try the boat supply place for some of your parts and materials.

Robert,

Thanks, but my little angels have broken the plastic pieces, that's what I am looking for.
