I know I posted this topic once before but I was reading an artile posted by a fellow MBCA member regarding the new GLK. http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/reviews/healey/2010-05-13-mercedes-benz-glk350_N.htm?csp=34&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+UsatodaycomMoney-TopStories+(Money+-+Top+Stories)
One point the article said was: "The seven-speed automatic transmission resets to its less-responsive mode each time you shut off the vehicle, forcing you to punch up "S" for Sport at each restart — just to get the thing to start out in first gear instead of second and to hold each gear a little longer for better performance."
I noticed a similer situation a few months ago when I was getting my car serviced at the dealer. They loand me a C300 and when I started the car, the car was in Comfort mode and I swiched it to Sport mode. When I went out later that night i started the car agean and I noticed that the car was in Comfort mode.
My car doesnt do that. It starts with the last mode that it was swiched to.
Is this something new? That all new MB's start in comfort Mode or is it a defect?
Or when dealers lend out cars they have the car set up in a way where it wont start with the last mode selected?
