Join us for this driving event specifically designed for you to learn how to properly handle your Mercedes-Benz automobiles in various situations during everyday driving, and to quickly and safely avoid potentially dangerous situations by getting more familiar with your car's handling characteristics and capabilities.  This is not a speed and horsepower event.  Each driver will navigate an autocross course in the shortest possible time, while endeavoring not to knock down soft traffic cones which mark the course. The course ends in a stop box, and all four wheels of the car would need to come to a complete stop within the confines of the box to avoid a penalty. Points are scored based on the time it takes for a driver to complete the course while avoiding traffic cones, then accurate braking and stopping at the end of the course.  Entries will be divided into classes of cars to accommodate different types and ages of vehicles.  Depending on attendance, each participant will do at least 3 runs, with the best time taken as the official run. 

The top 2 entries for each class win an award, but this is secondary.  It is far more important that you learn a bit more about the capabilities of your car, have great fun doing it, and enjoy the company of your fellow members.  We will need help to run this event properly.  So come on out and be with your fellow members even if you do not intend to drive the autocross.

Signing up as soon as you can will help tremendously in our planning - projected attendance will determine manpower requirements to run this event.

Schedule: Times below are approximate depending on actual attendance except where indicated.

    01:30pm SHARP:  Registration and paperwork.  All participants are required to attend a MANDATORY instructional and safety session.

    02:15pm:  Autocross. Awards to follow onsite.

Condition of your vehicle:

Safety is paramount. It is your responsibility to ensure that your vehicle is capable of safely participating in this event. The list below offers a general list of important safety checks. This is a guideline only, and not a comprehensive list.  Please inspect your vehicle and fix issues as necessary, or have a mechanic do it.

    - No Fluid Leaks.

    - Belts & Hoses firm and secure.

    - Battery Secure.

    - Brake shoes/pads 50% or better.

    - Seat Belts installed, secure, not frayed or cut.

    - Lug Nuts torqued.

    - Tires: at least 3/32” tread, no cuts, no bubbles.   

Other:  Helmets are required. We will have some extra helmets onsite.  Head socks, which you will need to wear with a borrowed helmet, will be available for sale at cost.  Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes which are comfortable for driving.  No sandals, no flip-flops.  Clear your car of loose items in the passenger compartment and trunk so they won't be tossed around while you are running the course.  Please bring cold drinks so you are hydrated in case of warm weather.
