What better way to start the Holiday Season than by gathering together and helping others with donations of toys and food!
New MBCA members and those of the various online Mercedes-Benz enthusiast forums joined together on a bright and sunny Sunday afternoon in early December for the GWS New Member Reception hosted by Mercedes Benz and Sprinter of Baltimore as a way to introduce them to our section and the club. A pre-holiday get-together is a great time to also gather food and toys for donations to those in need for the upcoming holidays!
A well placed a GLK with an open hatch, received donations of toys and food items for the United Way of Central Maryland. A Mercedes-Benz show was held in front of the dealership and quickly filled up with over 80 cars brought by over 120 attendees. From new AMG models like the SLS and C63 to classics like the 190 2.3-16 and numerous SL’s were displayed in this popular vote show.
Michael Coleman, the dealerships General Manager gave everyone a tour of the Mercedes-Benz and Sprinter of Baltimore dealership. Shawn Parrett, Manager of the Parts Department worked the grill as Chef de Cuisine cooking brats and burgers when not manning the parts counter offering Mercedes-Benz parts at wholesale prices to attendees. Mark Bisha, Service Shop Foreman, opened up Star TekInfo the online Mercedes-Benz diagnosis and repair terminals letting interested attendees stuff surf the sites to get an idea of what information is out there on their Mercedes-Benz and how to use this MB technical tool.
Attendees got a dash plaque and a goodie bag for attending. The day ended with ribbons to the Mercedes-Benz’s with the most popular votes. The Best-of-the-Best was a tie, and with a coin toss deciding the winner, a CLK 63 Black Series owned by Joe Caujkinas, and was awarded a Mercedes-Benz Mocha Set donated by German Auto Tours. Steve Walter’s 1965 220Seb, a multi LaCarrera Panamerica racer took runner up. In all ten attendees won awards for the various classes, such as Best Cabriolet, Best Modified and Best Wagon or SUV!
